News You Can Use: March 27, 2024

This week we continued to present updates and helpful information on MAVRIC, the state’s new electronic death reporting system that will go live in the near future. Also in this issue, we thanked those who attended the recent MAVRIC information session, announced that the Massachusetts and New Hampshire chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is relocating, reminded members to nominate graduates for the 2024 Past Presidents’ Award, announced that John Keohane of the Keohane Funeral Home of Quincy was elected Board Chair for Selected Independent Funeral Homes, announced that the State Board approved new preneed notification letters, announced that Michael McGaffigan of the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home in Pepperell has been selected to attend the 2024 Northeast Funeral Service Partnership Leadership Academy, as an MFDA representative, and provided clarification about the printing of burial permits in the new MAVRIC system.

News You Can Use: March 13, 2024

This week we shared a letter we sent to the state Board of Registration in Embalming and Funeral Directing regarding registered funeral assistants and apprentices. Also in this issue, we reminded members about the upcoming OSHA training session, provided a link for members to check if they have any unclaimed funds held by the state, and offered a final reminder to sign up for the upcoming MAVRIC information session.
