This week, we reminded funeral directors that the Board of Embalming and Funeral Directing will return to its pre-pandemic process of having applicants appear before the Board at their monthly meetings as a required part of the licensing process. Also, in this issue, we wished all a happy new year, informed funeral directors that the VA's claim form for a standard government headstone or Marker has been updated, asked you to share stories about your impact in your community, shared a photo of President Jimmy Carter visiting the Dee Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Concord in the 1980s, and reminded funeral directors that the 2024 Annual Preneed Reports must be submitted online by Jan. 31.
