This week, we explored the future of AI in the funeral industry. We also announced that applications are now open for funeral service graduates to be nominated for the MFDA President's Award. In addition, we reminded members about upcoming MAVRIC scheduled maintenance, outlined the appeals process for DTA denials, and shared a save-the-date for the 2026 Funeral Service Appreciation Night on September 16. We provided guidance on the processes funeral homes should have in place to prepare for a cybersecurity incident. Finally, we shared a New York Post report on emerging trends in Japan, along with a story about an Iowa nonprofit that helped lay nearly 200 unclaimed cremated remains to rest.
